Meet Recap

The Trojan Men opened their track and field competition with a very strong 2nd place finish at Lutheran Northwest where they took on the Crusaders and the Lakers of Lady of the Lake High School. The Trojans were extremely competitive, gathering points in nearly every category. The throwers were led by Randy Schmidt who placed first in the shot put and second in the discus. Austin Hearns also spotted the Trojans five more points with a 1st place finish in the 100M. Sanjay Varmon too had a stand-out day. He took first in the 110 and 300 M hurdles. Sanjay also participated in what was the most exciting win of the night for the Trojans. The men wrapped up the meet with a nail biting win in the 4 x 400 M relay. Freshman Daniel Cortez, and seniors Daveon Burnett, Sanjay Varmon, and Austin Hearns pulled off an exciting victory in the final race of the night. It was a great way to end the first meet of the year. Things are looking promising for a this very talented looking squad.
