Game Recap

TROJANS FALL HARD TO FALCONS IN REGIONAL FINAL. The score was close through 3 innings, (3-2) then Divine Child exploded for 6 runs with 2 outs in the 4th inning to break the game wide open. The Falcons went on to beat the Trojans 12-2 in a MHSAA Regional Final at Madonna University. “We just ran out of pitching” said Head Coach Craig Cotter. The Trojans used Regional Semi Final Pitchers Nick Bisaro and Logan Calimazzo for a majority of the game in the regional final with Zack Richards closing it out ” I thought they gave us the best opportunity to compete” said Cotter. “Playing back to back games in 85 degree weather did not help either” “Hats off to Divine Child, they are the team you have to go through if you want to win the regional” “They have a storied history with great players and an excellent coaching staff year in and year out” The Trojans did scratch out 7 hits, 2 by Bisaro and Nick Snage, also chipping in on the offense were hits by Calimazzo, Kam MacIver and Chase Carter. The Trojans have allot to be proud of under 4th year Head Coach Craig Cotter. They won the district for the first time in 17 years beating crosstown rival Redford Union, the WWAC Red division going (9-1) for the first division title in 35 years, and their first regional win in the history of the school. The Trojans graduate 10 seniors, but have a great core of underclassmen coming back. “We will be competitive again next year” 7 of the underclassmen coming back either started or saw significant playing time for the year. The Trojans put 4 players on the 1st team All League WWAC Red Division, they were Junior Nick Bisaro and Senior’s Bobby Jaber, Justin Kelley and Kameron MacIver.
