Clarenceville High School
St. Mary Catholic Central High School
At the Falcon Invitational in Monroe on Saturday, Clarenceville took a disappointing 4th place out of 6 teams, losing 2 of 3 games. In the 1st game, the Trojans won 2-1 against Airport HS. Nick Siml struck first, assisted by Snage. After giving up the lead, Nick Snage scored the game winner with under a minute left in the game.
Game 2 was dominated by a strong Adrian squad, who led 4-0 at halftime. The Trojans scored 2 second half goals on penalty kicks, one for Jacob Weiss and one for Obed Hernandez. The final score was 4-2.
In the final game, for 3rd place in the tourney, Clarenceville scored first in the first 30 seconds, with Jacob Weiss assisting Nick Snage. The Trojans were clearly the superior team for the remainder of the game, but gave up a breakaway goal to Roeper to tie it in the 2nd half. In overtime penalty kicks, the Trojans couldn’t get it done with the Roughriders taking PKs 5-3.
The Trojans are now 3-4-2 on the season, and look to rebound on Monday against conference foe Romulus.
