Clarenceville High School
Clarenceville came into week 6 still searching for their first win. Annapolis came to Shaw Stadium to try and keep the Trojans winless. But the Trojans would come out victorious with a 28-22 victory.
The scoring came early for the Trojans when running back #2 Dion Turner (Sr.) busting loose for a 17 yard touchdown. Annapolis would answer on most of the scoring drives by the Trojans, but the running game continued to help lead the way for the Trojans all night. #2 Turner had a good game on the ground, with 17 carries for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns. The running game was also helped by a strong rushing performance by #6 Kyle Nolan (Sr.), who rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries and added his own touchdown. Offensive line play was strong which contributed to the big night for these two runners. The offensive line was led by #73 Trevor Hills (Sr.), #79 Zion Lewis(Sr.), #58 Will Brown (Jr.), #75 Erick Rosas (So.), and #78 Jordan Perfect (So.). The offensive scoring was capped off by #16 Jesus Gonzalez (Jr.) who kicked a 20 yard field goal.
Defensively the Trojans had to make a goal line stop with no time remaining left on the clock to seal the victory. The defense stood tall and #58 Will Brown (Jr.) shed his block and made a solo tackle on the last play of the game. #61 Jordan Wutka (Sr.) who recovered a fumble in the endzone in the 3rd quarter. He also played strong game on the defensive line all night. Other Trojans who help lead the defense were #2 Turner (Sr.), #31 Alec Mitchell (Fr.), and #12 Gage Aper (Sr.).
The Clarenceville Trojans will look to add a second victory next week as they battle Robichaud on October 6th.
