CLARENCEVILLE MAKES HISTORY. The Trojans of Clarenceville win the MHSAA Regional for the first time in School History, 6-2 over the Panthers of Center Line. “There are 8 teams left out of 159 in the Division 2 baseball tournament and we are one of them” Said Head Coach Craig Cotter. “. “Nobody can take this away from our Boys” said Cotter. “I couldn’t be More proud of what these guys have done” “The kids get all the credit”, said Cotter, ” Bottom line, they play, and the coaches watch” Senior Logan Calimazzo gets the win going 4 innings and only giving up 1 run and striking out 5. “Logan is our most improved by far this year both on the mound and at the plate” He loves the game. Zach Jones pitched the 5th and 6th only giving up one run and Senior Nick Shute Closed out Center Line in the 7th. “This whole weekend was a total team effort, our guys came to play” The Trojan offense was led for the 2nd day in a row by Junior Nick Snage who went 2-4 with an RBI and Scoring a run. “Nick has stepped it up this entire tournament run” said Cotter. Other Trojans getting hits were Demond Scrutchions who also played stellar defense in right field making a couple of diving catches and 2 double play assists. Nick Shute had a double as did Zach Jones and Brad Trout came up big with a RBI bunt single in the 6th. Next up, Orchard Lake St Mary’s in a Quarter Final game at Novi HS at 4pm on Tuesday June 12th. The Trojans have improved their record to 17-13.
