CLARENCEVILLE REACHES DISTRICT FINAL WITH 5-2 WIN OVER WARREN FITZGERALD.
“All I can say is the Suicide works” Said Trojan Head Coach Craig Cotter, “my assistant Jim Morton calls it indefensible” said Cotter. Clarenceville worked it to perfection with the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning and the bases loaded. Nick Bisaro laid down such a good bunt it fooled the entire Fitzgerald infield and the Trojans not only scored one but 2 runs. Logan Calimazzo followed up with the Sac Fly to score the 3rd run in the inning to give the Trojans a 5-2 lead in the top of the 7th. Clarenceville’s Dynamic Duo of Calimazzo/Bisaro worked great once again. Calimazzo went 4 innings only giving up two runs and Bisaro came in and closed out the final 3 innings for the win giving up only two hits and striking out 4. “They both pitch so differently it is a great combo that keeps teams off balance” said Cotter. Jr. Nick Snage led the offense going 2-3 and scoring a run. Demond Scrutchions, Logan Calimazzo, Bisaro and Zach Jones also came up with big hits that impacted the game. The Trojans improve to 14-13 and play in the District final at 3:30 vs Ferndale at Clarenceville, who is hosting the district.
