CLARENCEVILLE REACHES REGIONAL FINAL FOR 2ND STRAIGHT YEAR.
The Clarenceville Trojans, behind the pitching of senior Nick Bisaro, beat the Cardinals of Melvindale 4-2. Bisaro went the distance giving up 2 earned runs, scattering 6 hits with 5 strikeouts and NO WALKS. “Nick has been our horse all year” Said Head Coach Craig Cotter.
“This was one of the best teams we faced all year” Said Cotter. Melvindale won their district by beating Division 2 powerhouse Divine Child 10-2, who had won 18 districts in a row. “Our guys were focused for 7 innings” said Cotter. The Trojans took the lead 1-0 in the top of the 4th on a perfectly executed bunt by Junior Nick Snage. Melvindale tied the score in the bottom of the 4th. Clarenceville went up for good in the top of the 6th when sophomore Zach Jones singled with the bases loaded and Senior Carl Ramsey added a run with a Sac. Fly to right field. Melvindale closed the gap to 1 by scoring 1 in the bottom of the 6th. Senior Logan Calimazzo added an insurance run in the top of the 7th after a double by Demond Scrutchions, Logan came up with a big RBI single. Offensively the Trojans were led by 2 hit performances from Scrutchions, Calimazzo and Nick Snage, the other hit came off the bat of Zach Jones. With the Trojan win they will face Centerline in the Regional Championship at 3pm @ Madonna
