CHARGERS TOPPLE TROJANS. In the consolation game of the Livonia City Tournament, Chruchill took advantage of 6 Clarenceville errors which led to two unearned runs as the Chargers beat the Trojans 6-2 on Saturday afternoon. Nick Bisaro went the distance but took the loss. “Nick kept us in the game and pitched to contact” said Head Coach Craig Cotter, “but we could not catch the baseball behind him” said Cotter. Of Churchill’s 6 hits, 3 were triples and 1 double. The Trojans struck out 9 times against Charger pitching. “You have to put the ball into play to win” said Cotter”we swing at too many bad pitches, the heart of our batting order is really struggling right now”. Offensively the Trojans were led by senior Demond Scrutchions who had two hits, an RBI and stolen base. Tavian Cruz chipped in with an RBI double. Other hits came from Logan Calimazzo and Brad Trout.
The Trojans fall to 7-11 on the year. Next up for the Trojans are the Tractors of Fordson on Monday 5/7, 4pm @ Dearborn Fordson.
