CLARENCEVILLE LOSES HEARTBREAKER 3-2 TO CLAWSON IN GAME ONE OF A DOUBLEHEADER. Leading 2-1 until the 6th a costly error in the outfield with two outs and a runner on second allowed Clawson to tie the game. In the top of the 7th the Trojans put men on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs, Senior Demond Scrutchions hit a blooper to right that appeared to skip into the rightfielder’s glove, that would have scored the go ahead run, but the field umpire called it a catch. The Trojan’s 1st base coach vehemently argued the call and was ejected from the game. ” Our 1st base coach had a great view of the play. ” “I could not see it from the 3rd bases coaches box clearly. I was concentrating on the runners”. said Cotter “It was unfortunate, but we make the catch in the 6th and we still have the lead” Clawson came back in the bottom of the 6th with back to back doubles and that was the difference in the game, as the Trojans went 1,2,3 in the 7th, as Clawson struck out the side. “We tell our kids all the time we can’t leave it in the umpire hands and if we make all of our plays the game usually goes in your favor” Senior Kyle Nolan went 4 plus innings giving up two unearned runs and only 3 hits. “This was Kyle’s best outing of the year, I loved the way he competed” Nick Bisaro came on in relief and took the loss. Offensively the Tojans could only muster 5 hits. Tavian Cruz, CJ Ramsey, Logan Calimazzo, Nick Shute and Brad Trout each had a base knock. The Trojans fall to 4-9 for the season.
