EAGLES CLAW TROJANs 11-5. Taylor Kennedy scored in every inning but 2 and banged out 13 hits as the Eagles handed Clarenceville its third loss in a row in this early season. “They took in to us offensively” said Head Coach Craig Cotter. “We threw 6 guys and only struck out 5” “If you are constantly putting the ball in play, good things happen”, said Cotter. The Trojans had no answer for the Eagles. Sophomore Zach Jones threw 1 and 2/3 rd scoreless innings, every other Clarenceville Pitcher gave up at least two or more runs. “We are still figuring out who can pitch for us”, said Cotter. “Zach will definitely get more innings”, said Cotter. Offensively the Trojans had one big inning pulling within one run in the 3rd by scoring 4 runs. “I thought we had solid at bats the first four innings of the game”, commented Cotter. However, Clarenceville struck out 7 times in their last 9 outs in the 5th-7th inning. “We have to be able to sustain solid at bats for an entire game”., said Cotter. The Trojan offense was spread out, with no one collecting more than one hit. Clarenceville hits were collected by Nick Snage, Nick Bisaro, Nick Shute, Josh Touchette, Demond Scrutchions, and Brad Trout. “It’s early” said Cotter, “we have some things to figure out and we will”. The Trojans are 0-3 and host Dearborn High on Friday April 13th at home at 4:30.
