The game started off scoreless for the first two minutes. The Trojans came out flat until the first basket was scored by Garden City and the Trojans immediately called a timeout to go over the offense. Once the Trojans regrouped they took the leads and maintained it for the entire game until the fourth quarter. At one point the Trojans were leading by 14 points, but it wasn’t enough to hold Garden City off from fighting back. Under a minute to go Clarenceville Trojans lost the lead and allowed the Cougars to tie the game. Clarenceville seemed to have folded but with about 30 seconds left but a huge basket was scored by Clarenceville’s leading scorer, junior guard, Tavian Cruz who finished the game with 24 points. The game came down to an attempted game winner by the Trojans that rattled out. The game would not have been as close if the post play wasn’t dominated by Sophomore Jay Ealy. The Trojans showed aggressive defense by Junior guard Jauwan Ward. The game was won in overtime thanks to two clutch free throws by junior guard Zachary Topolewski who also had three triples and finished the game with 11 points. It was a great game played by both teams. The Trojans go on the road this Tuesday against Robichaud High School at 7pm.
