The JV volleyball team lost to Lutheran Westland on Tuesday at home, 2 games to none. The Trojans started out strong, taking an early lead on the back of good serves and taking advantage of the opponent’s mistakes. They struggled to keep their lead late in the game and lost the first set 21-25. The Trojans were one step behind defensively in the second set, and were unable to overcome the Lutheran Westland offense. Kaitlyn Vallimont had 4 aces at the serving line and 2 blocks. Julia Kelley also had 4 aces and a string of 6 consecutive points served in the first set. Ryan Jaber and Jennifer Gonzalez chipped in with 4 and 5 digs respectively, and sophomore setter Ava Adkins had 10 assist-to-kills total. The Trojans look to rebound on Thursday on the road at Plymouth Christian Academy.
