Clarenceville had a busy day at the Whitmore Lake volleyball tournament on Saturday. The Trojans began bright and early against Livingston Christian. The Trojans were a little sluggish at the start of the match. They picked up the momentum halfway through, but were unable to pull out the win falling 21-25. The second set was in favor of the Trojans who pulled out a strong win with a score of 25-14. Next in pool play was the talented crew from Milan High School. The Trojans struggled to get anything going and lost both sets. Clarenceville finished pool play against Ann Arbor Greenhills and were evenly matched. The Trojans split again with scores of 25-20 and 20-25. The biggest highlight of the day was in first round playoffs against Concord. The Trojans lost a close first set 23-25 and captured a strong second win 25-18. The third set couldn’t have been any more intense. The Trojans were down 14-10 and fought back to tie 14-14 eventually finishing the game with a final score of 20-18. In the second playoff matchup, the Trojans fell to Blissfield 16-25 and 24-26. It was a strong team effort and the Trojans are improving every game. Next week the Trojans play their first home game against Robichaud High School.
