In a game that saw Clarenceville squander many chances, the Trojans were able to find the net just enough to bring home their first victory of the season.
In the first half, Clarenceville dominated play and generated several chances. Twice the Trojans hit the post, and put 11 other shots on the PCA goal. With just under 13 minutes in the half, Ervin Andelija was sent through to goal and found the net for the Trojans first road goal of the season.
The second half saw great improvement on the side of Plymouth Christian. Possession was much more even, and PCA forced 6 second half saves out of Trojan keeper Antonio Iuliano.
But it was a blistering shot from Clarenceville’s Arjan Reckovic that opened the scoring in the second half when it found a home in the top corner of the net.
PCA was able to pull one goal back and had several threatening moments late in the match. But in the end, the Trojan defense led by centerbacks Gavin Mitchell and Alec Mitchell was able to hold on to the lead.
These two teams meet again in October, and it will sure to be another exciting matchup.
