Lutheran Northwest was the recipient of 2 penalty kicks, and was able to convert both opportunities from the spot and secure a victory at Clarenceville High School.
The Crusaders from Lutheran Northwest controlled the majority of first half possession and were awarded a penalty with about 14 minutes remaining in the first half, and consequently took a 1-0 halftime lead.
Despite finding more possession in the second half, another penalty kick and a clever through ball caused the Trojans to find themselves down 3-0 after 30 minutes had been played in the second half.
Erun Sanchez converted the rebound of a Michelle Marzolo free kick to score her first goal of the season. Another Sanchez effort late in the match caused an impressive save from the Crusader goalkeeper. The Trojans worked hard defensively, but ultimately were unable to work hard enough to keep possession of the ball for the majority of the game.
