After a long 9 and a half months of blood sweat and tears the Clarenceville wrestling Trojans were back in action hosting the season opener Wednesday night kicking off the season with 2 team victories
The Trojans wrestled a tough John Glenn B team to a 46-36 decision with great leadership from the upper-classmen and a few under-classmen stepping up and getting their first victories of their wrestling career.
starting off at 119 Nick Paghaganas got the Trojans on track with his first pin / win with many more to come in the future
Jonathan Sanchez 130 continued the winning ways with a pin in the first period fighting off an early take down by John Glenn
Justin Fields 140 pinned his way to victory in the second period
Jacob Weiss 145 scored 11 points in the first period and pinned his opponent in the second period as well
Will Vernier 152 had a take down clinic at weight class notching up 7 take downs in his first match of the season
Brendan Mahoney 160 pinned his opponent in the first period with complete domination of his match
Jackobe Groves 171 had 3 quick take downs and pinned his way to victory
Emilio Ferrer 285 closed the match with a void and completed the win for the TROJANS!!!

the second match of the evening was Caesar Chavez against Clarenceville
the Trojans wrestled their way to a 53-21 victory with a combination of John Glenn extras and Chavez
125 Chris Sanchez earned his first victory of his career with a pin in the second period
Jonathan Sanchez 130, Justin Fields 140, Jacob Weiss 145, Will Vernier 152, Brendan Mahoney 160 all had pins Jakobe Groves 171, Josh Fleming 215, Emilio Ferrer 285, Ethan Krettler 103, and Dean Harrington 112 all won with Voids

It was a great night of wrestling for the Trojans and a wonderful way to start off the season
