In a very physical match Tuesday night, the Trojans had just enough to beat Inter-City Baptist 2-1. The Trojans put 2 on the board in the 1st half. Aaron Kluesner earned a PK, and ICB’s GK made a diving save, but Ervin Andelija put in the rebound for a 1-0 lead. Later in the half, Tinashe Nkhuwa made a strong run on a through ball and was taken out by ICB’s GK. Aaron Kluesner capitalized on the PK to take a 2-0 advantage.
The 2nd half was back and forth, with another big PK save by ICB’s backup GK. Andrew Conn scored with 9 minutes left to bring it to 2-1, and the Trojans held off the Chargers the rest of the way for a 2-1 victory. Chase Kluesner made several great saves in net.
The Trojans (11-4-5, 5-1-3) travel to Roeper on Thursday for a huge match, as Clarenceville looks to make up for an earlier 1-0 loss, while joining Roeper at the top of the MIAC Blue rankings. Game time is 4:30.
